
Adelaide: The mayor of the little South Australian township of Snowtown has announced that after months of negotiations Snowtown has finally reached agreement for sister-city status with Moe in Victoria.
Melbourne: The shock resignation here of a long-serving member
of the Victorian Upper House has defied all political and constitutional
conventions, experts believe.
"I'm not resigning so that I can spend more time with my family,"
Mr Charles Flockwell told the House on his final day in politics. "I
can't stand a bar of them actually, nor them me. I'm quitting politics so
I can go fishing more often."
