Bug ban backed big time!

Letters of support have poured into The Bug office congratulating the students at the University of Queensland for their stand against this disgraceful publication. Here are just a few that sum up the mood of the thousands who backed the ban.

Dear Editor,

I have always regarded The Bug as a festering cesspool of obscenity.
Although I have never seen a copy, I am told just about every second word is “penis” or some other smart-alec pseudonym for the male reproductive organ.
I pity all those poor university students who’ve had it rammed down their throats for the past 10 years.

Dear Editor,

It’s about time more young people had the guts to stand up against all the filth and degradation that passes for “humour” these days.
I look forward to standing shoulder to shoulder with Miss Humber and her colleagues during our prayer vigil at next year’s Sydney Mardi Gras. Who says I’m not in tune with what young people are thinking?

Dear Editor,

I’m not familiar with The Bug, but if it’s anything like I imagine it to be, I wholeheartedly support the ban.
Good on you University of Queensland Student Union! You’re my kind of people.
God bless you.

Dear Editor,

Congratulations to the University of Queensland Student Union for having the decency and courage to ban The Bug. I hope cinemas everywhere refuse to screen it.
