All the world's a staged photo op

To paraphrase that motorist in Planes, Trains and Automobiles, YOU'RE LOOKING THE WRONG WAY!!!!! Actually, we know the nice young couple at right, photographed by The Courier-Mail at South Bank during New Year's Eve celebrations, knew the crackers were behind them. After all, the photo caption boasted they had obtained the "best seat" on the South Bank lagoon's beach to view the fireworks! So they must be pretty nice people, too, seeing they kept smiling while the snapper got them posing facing away from all the expensive pyrothechnical action on the river in the background and having them gaze westward, thus causing them to miss a fair slice of the celebratory sky show. Still, there's always next year and, besides, we have a worthwhile addition to our collection of corny, staged press pix.
