Bush defends bigger bill
US President George W Bush has defended the A$50-million-plus
cost of celebrations held to mark his inauguration for a second
term.
When asked why the bill for the January 20, 2005 inauguration
would be higher than for the one following the 2000 election,
Mr Bush said there was a world of difference between the two events.
"For a start, I didn't win in 2000," he said.
Health check for PM's wife
The Prime Minister's wife Mrs Janette Howard was admitted to a
Sydney private hospital earlier this month for a heart test.
A spokesman for the hospital confirmed doctors had found one.
