Courier caps another bad day at the office

Remember all the trouble poor old Peter Hollingworth got into for saying an under-aged person "started" a relationship with an adult? Start suggests instigates, and it wasn't too smart of the former G-G to be loose with words, especially after the flak he copped a year before over his "other way around" comments on Australian Story.
The Courier-Mail probably shared in the outrage over Pete's latest poor choice of words. Understandably, too, for we should all use words that are clear in their meaning and don't confuse, conceal or mislead, right?
But the Brisbane daily continues to be guilty of exactly the same thing.
We gave the Courier a blast in the May Bug for trying to convey to readers that the aid given that armless little fellow from Baghdad was mainly their doing, and not just because they are part of the Dirty Digger's global empire.
And now they're at it again - this time over that smelly old cap of Donnie Bradman's that mega-rich News Limited wants struggling mums and dads all around the country to fork out their hard-earned for.
Here's what The Courier-Mail had to say last Friday, May 30: "The (cap's) owner has set a special price for the cap to be sold … and he has given The Courier-Mail campaign, supported by other News Limited publications, the exclusive option to buy pre-auction."
If start means instigates, then surely support implies that the Courier has the principal role in bringing the baggy green home and other News Limited mastheads have lesser, supporting roles.
It would seem that to at least one writer or sub at the Courier, words are not only cheap but there to be thrown about with complete disregard for the facts.
