Fillums:
Forget the shell, this blonde simply bombs
In 2001 director Robert Luketic set out to provide a fresh
interpretation of the idea that you can't judge a book by its
cover in Legally Blonde.
In his creation of the ditzy blonde Elle Woods (Reese Witherspoon,
right) Luketic suggested that not all blondes get lost looking
for the corner of circular rooms.
Now, in the spirit of wringing every last bitter drop out of a
good idea, Hollywood gives us Legally Blonde II.
At an average cost of around AU$70 million, surely the funds could
have been spent more effectively elsewhere.
After consultation with leading financier Morrie Bezzle, The Bug
has some ideas about more deserving causes:
1. Teach Hollywood scriptwriters that even if their studios force
them into writing sequels, they are duty bound to come up with
interesting and original titles.
2. Revive the dire financial straits of Australians for Honest
Politics
3. Provide a final solution for Suncorp Stadium: Astroturf
4. Offer a little help in reducing Shane Warne's phone bill
5. Finance a continuous 24-hour vigil outside Pauline Hanson's
prison
6. Pay for a Asylum Seeker Alert Fridge magnet campaign
7. Use it as hush money to convince ex-Lord Mayor Jim to ditch
Soorley on Sunday
8. Fund any number of research programs into diseases like schizophrenia,
cancer, Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and so on and so on.
